Fire Hurts

Having an interest about the world is a natural and good trait for any child. Fire is a part of that world and a powerful force in it, but fire is a tool and not a toy. Children need to know that matches and lighters are very dangerous to touch!  When you find matches or lighters leave them alone and tell an adult at once. Fire is a tool, not a toy!

Fire will burn you, and it hurts. It can also scar you.

If your clothes catch on fire, DO NOT RUN! This will only make the fire burn faster. Here is what you should do.

Remember: Stop, Drop and Roll

  • STOP immediately.
  • DROP to the ground or floor and
  • ROLL over and over until the flames are out.

Remember to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
