UH-60 Blackhawk flight simulator is a device that artificially re-creates aircraft flight and the environment in which it flies. Capitalizes on emerging technological advances, mobility and cost effectiveness for pilot training. It includes replicating the equations that govern how aircraft fly, how they react to applications of flight controls, the effects of other aircraft systems, and how the aircraft reacts to external factors such as air density, turbulence, wind shear, cloud, precipitation, etc. It also allows pilots to train on emergency procedures that cannot be trained on a live aircraft.
The UH-60 Blackhawk flight simulator at Fort Knox Kentucky is regional based device that caters to our Army Reserve and Army Guard in the surrounding area. However, it is available for use by the active component and other federal agencies.
